Adrian's Bio

Adrian attended Liceo Maximo Gomez High School in the Dominican Republic, after which he was signed to a contract by the LA Dodgers. The problem was, Beltre was 15 years old, which was a year younger than permitted by Major League Baseball. As a result, the Dodgers were fined and ordered to pay Beltre a bonus. Adrian was a top prospect in all of his years in the Dodgers system. He finally made his debut in 1998, but he had mediocre statistics until the year 2004, which was the last year in his contract. In '04, Beltre led his Dodgers to the playoffs, slugging 48 homeruns and coming in second in NL MVP voting. After the season he signed a 5-year, $64 million contract with the Seattle Mariners.

Defensively, Adrian

Adrian is a very good defensive third baseman. Most people rank Beltre's defense in the top 5 among all hot corner players in the MLB.

Almost MVP

In 2004 with the Dodgers, Adrian Beltre was almost the NL MVP. He finished second in voting to none other than Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants. However, Adrian finished the 2004 season with more homeruns than Barry did.

At Home

Adrian Beltre lives in the Dominican Republic now with his wife, Sandra. They also have one child, Cassandra.
