Raul's Bio

Raul Ibanez was born in Manhattan, New York in 1972. He attended Miami Dade CC, after which Raul was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 36th round of the 1992 draft. Ibanez was drafted as a catcher, but was converted to an outfielder in the Minor Leagues. After 8 long years in the Mariners' system, he was granted free agency in 2000. He played for the Kansas City Royals from 2001-2003. In '04, Raul signed back with his first team, the Seattle Mariners. Since then, Raul Ibanez has been a fan favorite here in Seattle.

At the begining of the season, Raul Ibanez signed a 2 year extension with the Mariners, amounting to $11 million.
