I'm giving it an 8.

You gave each of the acquisitions a fitting grade, but you can't doubt Jarrod Washburn that much. He won't have as good of a season as last year, but he will have his ERA around 4.00 which isn't bad.

Sure, he's a decent pitcher and you're right, a 4 ERA is good, but look at what he's being payed! That's ace money, and he's pitching in the 3 hole!

7. i agree with Samfisher, but your conclusion on the Carl Everett deal was sort of harsh. I have doubts we're keeping him for the whole season. If he goes on fire, we're keeping him. If he does okay, we'll probably trade him to a team who needs him. If he sucks, then we drop him, and you were right about it and you can shove it in my face.

Tell me this: Do you think Everett will hit any more than .250 with 20 homeruns?

Then how can you say I'm being harsh on Everett? I gave him a low grade because he can't contribute to the team, and you just said so yourself.

i thought you were grading on the trade itself, not the actual player?

The signing you mean.

I'm grading the signing and the player. Everett is a below-average player, thus the signing of that below-average player gets a low grade.

i liked your feedback on everett. the only way that guy could get somewhere quick is to roll down a hill. he has NO speed
